Our Services
At 20/20 Entertainment, we provide crystal clear sound on our 3 fully digital computerized systems. Our music unlike many of our competitors has come from the original CD and the quality shows. We also do NOT use tapes of any kind and there are no annoying gaps between musical selections unless required to make special announcements. We can do this because all 3 of our systems utlize a state-of-the-art new piece of equipment, the Numark D2 Director Mass Storage Player; it is a Linux- based console with an LCD display and features a revolutionary user interface to provide the Entertainer with all the features, and mixing abilities of a much larger CD system. It essentially is a deck that retrieves the music from a USB external hard drive. Like a Pro CD deck, it has the same layout but without having to load CDs or dealing with skips. This piece of equipment allows the Entertainer to access music via the easy to read LCD screen on the unit. The music is all sorted out by genre and in alphabetical order making track retrieval a snap. There are no bulky CD binders to have to thumb though and you’ll know the difference when you hear your request in record time. It is a fantastic piece of technology that allows us to continue to offer top notch service and the ability to cater a playlist to each individual event. It also helps us continue to offer many musical choices on the fly, with clear crisp sound and to continue to expand our library. Music in Numbers?
What does it mean?
In setting up 20/20 Entertainment DJ Services we’ve come across some pretty amazing numbers used to denote the number of songs that a typical DJ company may have. We’ve seen numbers ranging from 6000 to 20,000-often on the same website, and we too have tens of thousands of songs and access to 1000s more. These numbers really don’t mean a whole lot; they may denote a huge selection or bigger variety, however numbers only go so far. A Qualified Entertainer also needs to know his music and when it’s the best time to play what. The point is, if the DJ doesn't have a particular song that you are looking for then what's the difference beteen 2,000 or 200,000 songs?
Often times a DJ company will employ the use of laptops that make music retrieval a snap. Laptops or notebook PCs or MACs have had a huge impact on our industry. Besides the almost instant music retrieval, there is the benifit of saving space and making load in and out a little easier. However the drawbacks of such technology is that DJ’s can make a playlist that can be used from one event to another. Ask your DJ if the music he will play be tailored to your event or will it be from his usual list of songs that he plays at every event.
At 20/20 Entertainment we like to think that majority of people would like hire a Entertainer who is willing and able to reconize that every audience is unique and to use his professional skills to read the crowd at every event. Sure many songs are played from one event to another, it’s just the principal. By that logic, why not just burn off a handful of Mixed CDs and put them in a CD changer and let it go. We are not against laptops, we just feel that they are a tool for the entertainer to use to help himself or herself to do an even better job at entertaining your gusts at an event. Remember that the Entertainment should be provided by the entertainer, not the laptop.
